How is 3D Printing Posed to Benefit Society and What Implications does it Create?
Researching the socialogical impact of 3D printing was very challenging as it is fairly new topic being discussed. Using google along with google scholar, library@uncc.edu, and youtube, I was able to support my inquiry on how 3D printing is affecting society. I was able to find articles, ebooks, videos, pdf documents, reports, and examples on the culture and purpose behind 3D printing technology. This Fox News clip showcases a new 3D printed hand created for a young boy who was born with an undeveloped left hand. They disscussed how the father printed his son a hand with a 3D printer at a fraction of the cost of a $42,000.00 prosthesis.. They also asked the young boy how it makes his life easier and how popular it is to talk about amongst his peers.
Carsten Engel dissuses medical benefits that 3D printing can provide at TED. He explains the process of 3D and proivdes expamples of some of the medical Applications.
